Senior Plant Automation Commissioning Engineer
About the Role
StaffPoint is searching on behalf of Wärtsilä Finland Oy and its Energy Business, Construction and Commissioning Services a Senior Plant Automation Commissioning Engineer. This position is suitable for professionals who are ready for full-time international assignments. You’ll be traveling extensively to power plant commissioning projects worldwide, with each assignment lasting from several months up to a year. This role offers the excitement of continuous global travel while working on advanced automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning and testing of automation systems in new power plants across the globe.
- Provide on-site maintenance and troubleshooting for Wärtsilä products.
- Supervise installation and commissioning activities for Wärtsilä Power Plant installations.
- Participate in product improvement activities during warranty periods.
- Document and report on system checks and adjustments according to Wärtsilä standards.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience & Education: At least 5–8 years in automation commissioning with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering or a related field.
- Technical Expertise that is an advantage:
- Experience with PLC Automation Systems (Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, Schneider Modicon).
- Proficiency in automation IP networks.
- Knowledge of server environment, virtualization with Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Experience with Aveva InTouch, Moxa, Fortinet equipment/software.
- Familiarity with Wärtsilä systems (UNIC / SWOIS).
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Additional Information
- Start Date: The job will begin as per mutual agreement.
- Location: Your home base will be in Turku or Vaasa, Finland, but as this is a full-time traveling position you can live anywhere in Finland or for example in the Baltic countries. You must be eligible to work in Finland immediately, as we do not provide relocation or immigration assistance to Finland for this position.
