Career Story: Jesse Tyni – Sales with success in mind at DNA

Working life doesn’t always begin with a clear plan. Sometimes it starts with a single job ad and a bold decision to go for it. That’s exactly what happened to Jesse Tyni, who today works as a Sales Advisor at DNA through StaffPoint, delivering results that few can stay quiet about.

When the desire to influence earnings led Jesse into sales

Jesse had previously worked hourly paid jobs, but one thought kept nagging at him: what if his own performance could be seen directly in his paycheck? When he came across StaffPoint’s job posting for a Sales Advisor position at DNA, the decision was made quickly.

“I wanted a job where I could influence my earnings myself. This immediately felt like my thing.”

Being direct pays off – even in an interview

Jesse’s journey to DNA through StaffPoint began with an interview with Mika, the Office Manager in Oulu. Jesse decided to be himself and a little bold.

“At the end of the interview, I said that you’ll definitely get a strong salesperson in me, and I asked when I could start. Apparently it worked, because I’ve now been at DNA for over a year.”

Sometimes confidence isn’t a risk. It’s a strength.

Sales swept him away – and the results followed

The first week was spent in training. There, Jesse also heard a sentence that stuck with him.

“We were told that the best salespeople earn more than doctors or fighter pilots. That instantly sparked my motivation.”

Once he finally got to start calling customers, Jesse knew he was in the right place. Customer interactions felt natural, and the results spoke for themselves: already in his first month, he ranked number one in sales among the new sellers who started at the same time. The following month he made it into Oulu’s top 10 – and soon into the top 3, month after month.

A record that required persistence

His biggest milestone so far? Breaking DNA’s CC commission record in January 2026.

“It didn’t happen by accident. It came through hard work and persistence.”

In sales, every day is different. Not everyone buys, and not everyone even answers. But when your mindset stays right, the deals will follow.

Motivation comes from goals and people

Jesse starts each workday with a clear target: a specific commission goal in mind.

“Every deal gives you a boost and increases your hunger. And when you have supportive managers and an amazing team around you, it’s genuinely nice to come to work.”

Jesse gives special credit to the Oulu team. Everyone wants to succeed – together.

Sales skills are not just about numbers

A CV doesn’t always show the skills that truly close deals. Jesse highlights listening, calm communication, and persistence. And yes – a sense of humour, too.

“You have to find the reason why this solution is the right one for the customer. And sometimes a little spark helps more than any sales phrase.”

Looking ahead – aiming for the top in Finland

Jesse’s future goals are clear: to stay among the best in Finland and win as many sales competitions as possible.

“I eat well, sleep well, and exercise a lot. You can see it in how well you cope.”

Advice for a new salesperson

“Take in all the learning right from the start. Believe in yourself and give your full 100% every day.”

Simple. Not easy. But possible.

Jesse has a strong work ethic. He takes in everything he learns and applies it straight into practice. An incredible colleague!
