People’s expectations and needs in working life vary widely , and when looking specifically at those over 50, this diversity becomes even more evident. StaffPoint conducted a work-life study focused on individuals aged 50 and above, revealing that this age group is far from homogeneous. Instead, it consists of a wide range of individuals, each with their own hopes and needs regarding work.

In the study, StaffPoint identified six distinct profiles, four of which considered work to be an important part of their lives. These four groups made up 69 percent of all respondents. Among them were those satisfied with a new job, those seeking meaningfulness, work-oriented individuals, and those changing jobs due to health challenges, while the “wind-downers” and “passives” were less interested in pursuing new challenges at work.

Our work-life study helps to better understand the diversity and needs of employees in this age group, while also providing valuable insights into how to support and motivate different individuals in their work.
