Division Underground Drilling is responsible for development and sales of premium drilling equipment solutions for underground mining and tunneling globally. Our knowledge of underground drilling applications and our customer support ensures optimal solutions for vast customer base. Our strength is to deliver best-in-class equipment solutions that meet and exceed customer safety and productivity needs. We are now looking for a proactive and business-minded Business Controller to join us. This is a key position within the finance organization focusing on ensuring optimal business performance and continuous improvements as well as correctness and timely availability of consolidated financial monthly reporting for the division. The position will be based in Tampere, Finland.

Your role

In the Business Controller role, you are main part of the division’s global finance team and report directly to the division Business Control Director. Your main areas of responsibilities are to participate into monthly financial closing and reporting and ensure correctness of the Division figures, participate into quarterly financial forecasting, and facilitate the process towards reporting entities, monitor division business performance using appropriate systems and develop those systems to reflect future needs, challenge teams to find continuous improvements on financial performance and ensure proper FX risk mitigation actions are in place for the Division. The role requires close collaboration with other teams within the division (sales, product management, engineering, supply) globally in our production units in Finland, France, India, Canada, and China, as well as with sales entities across the world.

Your background

You have a suitable degree in Finance/Industrial Engineering & Management (preferably Master’s) with strong business acumen. You have at least 4-5 years’ experience in Controlling, Accounting, Reporting/Forecasting.  Advanced Excel skills as well as good understanding of ERP systems and experience of finance system related development projects are essential in the role.  Earlier experience creating PowerBI reports is seen as an advantage as well as knowledge of IFRS standards. 

Your way of working is proactive, systematic, and efficient and you can understand the context and the big picture.  Our ideal candidate is a service-minded team player with flexible and can-do attitude. Good communication (fluent in English, Finnish as an advantage) and strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to prioritize and keep deadlines are essential.
