Spring House proudly participated with its partner, the Finnish Paralympic Committee, in the global WeThe15 campaign, which was launched spectacularly around the world on Thursday, 19 August 2021 at 9 p.m. (Finnish time).

WeThe15 is a worldwide initiative coordinated by the International Paralympic Committee. Its goal is to use the power of sport to raise awareness and spark discussion about the societal position, inclusion, and equality of people with disabilities. The campaign’s mission is to make the world a more equal and inclusive place for everyone.

The number 15 refers to the estimated 15% of the global population, around 1.2 billion people, or one in seven of us, who live with some form of disability. The core message of the campaign is that this number is far too large to be ignored.

On the day of the launch, numerous iconic landmarks around the world were illuminated in the campaign’s signature purple colour, including the Colosseum in Rome, London Eye, and Niagara Falls. In Finland, the tower of Helsinki Central Railway Station was lit up at 9 p.m. to mark the occasion.

Opening Doors Together

Spring House is committed to promoting equal employment opportunities, supporting diversity in workplaces, and helping shape the perceptions and attitudes of Finnish society—employers, jobseekers, and work communities alike. The WeThe15 campaign plays an important role in highlighting this mission and keeping the conversation alive.

“Clients in challenging labour market positions are an important customer group for us,” says Minna Lindholm-Lähde, CEO of Spring House. She adds that the organisation works every day to support the employment of people with partial work ability and physical disabilities.

“Every encounter and conversation between a jobseeker and an employer that we help facilitate through our coaching breaks down invisible barriers and enables genuine human connection,” Lindholm-Lähde concludes.
