Technology Lead – Telecom Systems

Our client Infosys is seeking an experienced Technology Lead – Telecom Systems & Data Operations to work with enterprise applications within the telecom industry. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technical expert with strong backend, data processing, Linux‑based system experience, and a solid background in production support and operations in high‑availability environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of telecom‑grade enterprise applications.
  • Work extensively with Java, and contribute to Python‑based applications used in data processing and production environments.
  • Utilize Microsoft Logparser and MS SQL for log analysis, data extraction, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues in production environments using monitoring and observability tools, with the aim of reducing MTTD and MTTR.
  • Operate and maintain solutions running on Linux and appliance‑based environments.
  • Manage L2/L3 production support, including incident, problem, and change management in 24x7 operations.
  • Lead major incident triage, facilitate outage calls, and ensure resolution in line with SLAs and OLAs.
  • Restore normal service operations quickly while minimizing business impact and ensuring service availability.
  • Support production deployments, batch job management, and steady‑state operations.
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, scalability, and compliance (including SOX‑related activities where applicable).
  • Collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders (application owners, infrastructure teams, developers, and support analysts).
  • Contribute to dashboarding, automation, and simplification of operational processes.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and contribute to architectural and operational decisions.
  • Coordinate effectively in onsite–offshore delivery models.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of total industry experience, including:
    • 8+ years in hands‑on technical roles within enterprise or telecom‑grade environments
    • 6+ years in application support and maintenance (Tier 2 / Tier 3)
  • Strong experience with Java, and working knowledge of Python for application development and production support.
  • Solid expertise in Linux, MS SQL, log analysis, and production troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of incident management, problem management, change management, and production deployments.
  • Experience working with monitoring & observability tools (APM, logs, alerts).
  • Ability to analyze complex system issues and drive root‑cause investigations.
  • Strong communication skills in English and ability to work effectively in a hybrid, international environment.
  • Flexibility to work in a 24x7 operational support model.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the telecommunication domain or other high‑availability, high‑performance environments.
  • Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Experience in SLA & KPI management and reporting.
  • Prior exposure to automation, dashboarding, and operational process improvement initiatives.

This is a fixed‑term (approx. 9 months project) full‑time position based in Helsinki, Finland (hybrid), starting as soon as possible.
