Senior Accountant / Financial Controller – 6 months assignment, hybrid, Finland
We are looking for a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller for a 6-month assignment together with our client Customs Support Group. A full-time employment contract will be signed with StaffPoint. Work can be done from anywhere in Finland.
As a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance for Finland. You will work closely with both the local Nordic team and Group Finance while contributing to continuous process improvements. As such, strong knowledge of Finnish regulations is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the monthly closing process
- Ensure compliance with Finnish statutory requirements
Prepare and review financial statements (IFRS + local GAAP) - Perform and review general ledger postings and reconciliations
- Support tax filings and statutory reporting
Ensure accurate reporting to the Group Finance in the Netherlands - Manage cash flow and liquidity forecasts
- Prepare annual reports and financial statements
- Work closely with Nordic Finance and our accounting team in Poland
Drive process improvements and automation
Support audits, ad-hoc analyses, and projects with the Finance Director
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- 6+ years of accounting experience
- 2+ years of financial controlling experience
- Fluency in Finnish, plus English
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
- Solid understanding of Finnish regulations
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics BC is a plus
- Background in customs or logistics is a plus
